Not really sure what day it actually is on this project 🥲 but this was about 3 working days worth of updates! Thankful for friends and resources to help us get to this next step, and also thankful to not have to use the dungeon bathroom (basement) anymore 🚽 😂 next up: waterproofing! Excited to use @schlutersystemsna Kerri Board!

Side note: I need to keep a cordless circular saw in my car for HD trips that will require cutting wood.

Haven’t spent as much time out on the patio as I would have liked. Between the heat, the smoke, and time, it hasn’t always worked out. But the smoke has died down, it’s not super hot, and my @tikibrandproducts torches came in the other day. Not sponsored, just happy to keep the bugs away 😅 there’s still a couple months left of summer and I want to soak it all up ☀️

Day 2 and 3 recap of working on redoing the tub surround. After finding the rot, things slowed down for a few days. Thankful for our friends at @interiorelitecontracting who came by to help Joe reframe the wall. After spraying some mould/mildew/rot spray, we got to taking out the closet in order to make room for niches. This lead to more surprises 🫣 such as finding there was basically no insulation in one wall, and behind the bit that was there, a wasp or hornet nest 🐝 after going for dinner for my SIL’s birthday, Joe reinsulated it all with @rockwoolna . We can already tell a difference in the temperature and sound of the room! Next is applying the poly, framing the niches, and 🤞🏻 putting in the tub. When my soul sister said she wanted to finish the shower before her husband got back from work, you know I was there 💪🏻 they did all the heavy work beforehand - demo, leveling, installing the new @maax_bath shower. All was left was some tedious caulking. And well, we all know I have a bit of experience caulking showers now! We did a mix of black silicone along the top and in the centre where the walls met to continue the look of the faux-grout (can you believe this isn’t tile?!). Then did a translucent white along the perimeter outside of the glass walls. This stuff dries FAST and I was worried the tape has ripped off my hard work, but in the end it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself 😘 now let’s see if her husband notices it was taken off the honey-do list 😉

As some of you may know, I am Auntie to many in my life. Most recently, my best friend had a little boy in April! She also moved within a couple of weeks - new baby, and a new nursery.
