I know I’m should be posting to my “niche” but here’s a bit of a highlight of what I’ve been trying to keep my mind busy with.
Knock knock, who’s there?
These doors need to be retired eventually, so I figured I had nothing left to lose by giving them a quick $100 weekend makeover. It might not fix the dents, but makes them blend a little better 😉

Swipe to see the work in progress, and a special gift a bird left me at the end 🙃
This last week was our first of what will be many experienced of navigating joy and grief simultaneously. Seeing souvenirs we would have bought (Ron loved a hat from when we would travel), to parts he would love pictures from (Cars land specifically was a tough one).

Before this, I could never understand someone going on a holiday right after such a loss. But now, I think that it was the best thing we could have done. Surrounding ourselves in a literal environment meant to bring joy. Where all of us could be immersed into a whole other world. It was just what we needed to physically bring us out of the fog.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out during this time, and allowed us to grieve in a way I never thought we would 💕
The number one question… is the kitchen done yet?! She’s at 95% 😅 here’s the last 5%! Follow along to see if we get to 100% done and other projects!
You probably were expecting photos of our trim being painted, but here are some of time at the @bloedel_conservatory 💕 🌱 🐦 . And then also a good smoothie from @honolulucoffeeyvr which was delicious. I have many more to share but here is a little photo dump for now 📷
Slowly making this house into a home, one room at a time 🎨follow along as we do more spaces! #powerofpaint #weekendroommakeover #myrichandmoodyhome #moodybathroom

About Me!

Hi! I'm Alyssa and I love to DIY, decorate, and work on building a holistically beautiful and functional home. After living tiny for 3 years in a 400 sq foot apartment, we purchased a 1960's fixer-upper and love making it our own on a budget. I can't wait to continue on this journey with you!
