Last year’s year in review lends itself to a perfect 20/20 vision pun, but I won’t make you go through that 😉

2020 – man what can I say. It has been one hell of a rollercoaster. I would have never guessed that after buying our home in August 2019 that 7 months later a worldwide pandemic would hit and my husband would be laid off. So here we were, newlyweds in a new home facing a completely new world. But hey – we made it out and so did you! DIY – like yours might be – is one of my therapies where I can put all my energy into it and pretend the world makes sense. Where you can’t control when you will see family or friends again, DIY was there for me this year as a creative outlet. So let’s recap 8 of 2020’s projects (and pretend it isn’t already almost March..)!

1 – Faux shiplap entry way for under $20!

2 – Building a garden from scratch! (post in progress)

3 – Spare bedroom refresh. From baby blue to boho!

4 – Creating a sanctuary in our main bedroom. Faux brick paneling and more! (Post in progress)

5 – Power of paint to make a plain step look like a buffalo check plaid rug!

6 – Contrast trim forever. Modernizing our hallway with a timeless classic.

Beige trim and doors are on either side of a thin white wall

7 – Giving some life to a forgotten hall closet with a sponge wall makeover.

8 – Dining refresh! Reupholstering our dining chairs and painting the table for a new look.

Here’s to 2021 – more projects, more paint, and making our homes more “us”! Click here to see what we have planned!
